With a genuine gold finish, this pottery bowl can be the perfect ornament for a dining table center or a living room shelf. The bowl is made with clay in its natural color. He has grooves and tears that I intentionally create in the creative process. I stretch the clay on a balloon and tear it apart.
The idea behind this is that, like life itself, there is nothing perfect. Life is made of cracks, holes and imperfections, and it is their beauty. My design finds beauty and perfection in the imperfect.
Some holes and cracks are hand-covered with real gold to emphasize how much we humans try to embellish the imperfect when there is no need. The outside of the bowl remains unglazed; it will retain the color of the clay. Inside the bowl, I put a fragile layer of glaze, then wipe it smooth, creating an interesting shade.
