This coffee and recycled wine bar project began with a maple dresser made by defehr furniture in winnipeg, mb, canada. I wanted to turn it into a wine and coffee bar, transforming it from an unused dresser into a functional room that works in today's houses. I removed 4 of the drawers to make room for the wine locker that can display 15 bottles, the glass holder that contains a variety of glass sizes and a space for a service tray.

The two bottoms of the drawers were lined with a damassable wallpaper. The wallpaper and the sides of the drawer, inside and outside, were painted with a wash from chalk painting annie sloan antoinette.

I applied four different Franese rustic coffee style transfers on the washing outside the sides of the drawer to give it a sense of Franese farm and an applied top font. The drawers were supplemented by the addition of antique bronze drawers feasted in coffee color.

I finished the top with a durable java gel stain and protected it with a satin finish layer. The rest of the coffee and wine bar was finished with a white chalk paint with a very small amount of grey added, followed by a finish cover. This well-used maple dresser has now been recycled into a beautiful functional and unique furniture made for today's houses with its original charm and unspoilt feel.
