Ancient French kitchen scales, Napoleon iii-style wooden ladders, marble and brass from the 1930s. Beautiful Ancient cuisine French in the style of Napoleon iii. They date back to the 1930s. It was a popular style for scales in France. I've found a few of this style over the years, but these are outstanding.

They are solid and the wood is encrusted with an ebony design on 3 sides. The scales sit on small feet of eccentric lions that are brass.

The trays are made of solid brass and are sturdy, not as light as many. A marble tray is on top, then the 2 small supports that hold the metal brass trays, both are stamped with a name and various numbers and signs. The scales have a front and rear observation window to see the balance of the two needles. I sell them for display purposes because they don't exactly weigh now.

They're in good antique condition. The wood is a little faded and the color goes in places. The marble is a beautiful pale grey veined marble and it has no cracks, a small chip on a corner, but it does not remove anything and it is at the back, a few small snacks. The arms that hold the trays are a little rusty in places and show some wear.

The trays have various figures stamped on them, but I was unable to trace the history of the brand, they have few signs of patina and oxidation, but could be polite if you like. I have a kitchen-wide addiction. I have a set of ladders like this in my living room that are bigger and hold candles. I also have a set of butcher scales on my kitchen island that I use as a fruit bowl, why not it's great to put these old things to use. They would also look great if you have a large bathroom, they could hold your decorative soap. They would look great on a country farm table like candlesticks, they would look cute holding teating lights. I'm sure you could think of even more ideas. Height (includes brass trays): 21cm - 5.9.
