This beautiful elegant scale of the kitchen ladder is made of cast iron and has brass trays. It is stamped strength on one side and 2 kilos on the other side with a silver circle with a f, which means they can weigh up to 2 kilograms. You can also see weak initials on the balance arm and you can make a j. It has been cleaned and shiny to remove age and rust to bring back its original state.
I used a matt rust-resistant varnish to protect the surface of the future age. It is charming because the blue paint is unique and appears in a room and looks naturally in distress with various shades of turquoise blue, silver, bronze, etc.I did not test the scale to determine its accuracy or function, although it appears to be slightly unbalanced as shown in the images. I would use it for interior decoration because it is a wonderful conversation room, especially with dried fruits or flowers in the trays. This would make a wonderful addition to any rustic living space, chic shabby, French farm or photographic cuisine, film, theatre, shop, coffee, bakery exhibition item. -- --- of the state.
In a very nice vintage condition. As this article is ancient and over 100 years old, there are signs of age and use such as faded paint marks, a dried rust color inside the ladder, surface scratches and bumps that, I believe, add to its charm and character as shown in the image. As mentioned, the balance seems to be slightly unbalanced, so I would not rely on it to weigh objects. The cast iron and brass have been cleaned and shiny to improve its original beauty, but there are still surface scratches and bumps of age. Please see the images using the zoom to review the condition. 16 cm diameter 11 cm x 19 cm x 42 cm. 2,800 grams without counting the weight of the package.
