A vintage carpet from the centre of Anatolia made in the 1940s, all wool, handmade, classic design, natural and man-made dyes, good harmony of colors, excellent condition (no repairs). Thank you for your interest, we hope you will enjoy the carpet for years to come. What is vintage handmade carpet. Between 1920 and 1990, 100 per cent of hands were touched. Natural sheep's wool or cotton was used and some of the paint was made from nature. Some of them are made with the technique of flat weaving, some of them have been woven with knots. It would usually be affected by two ladies and would last between a month and a year, depending on their size. Woven rugs were used on the floor in Anatolia. Each family would weave carpets according to the number of children in the house because, a family member would touch her with at least five rugs when she married, as a gift to her home.

It is a common tradition in the Anatolian region. After many years, these rugs are bought again by carpet collectors like us, and all repairs are made and cleaned are presented to the taste of our appreciated customers.

It is therefore purely a work of art. Handmade carpets sometimes have some errors, such as curvature and sometimes minor abrasions on the knots. These are perfectly normal because they are one hundred percent hand-woven. Please ask for detailed information and photos about the product to avoid any problems after purchase.
